Family of feline pawrents share their hissterically futile attempts at keeping their cats off their hooman beds: ‘My cat is the owner of my bed’

As cat owners, we understand that we no longer have literally any authority in our own homes. In fact, our homes aren't even our homes anymore, they are now our cats' homes, and we're just lucky to live there. Our food is their food (but their food is their food, won't make that mistake again), our couch is their couch, and in case you didn't get the memo yet, our bed is their bed. Appawrently, though, there are some feline pawrents who don't allow their cats on the bed. And to those cat owners, we have just one question: How??

One purrticular purrson went online and asked other cat owners if they let their cats on their hooman beds, and the answers are just as hissterical as you might imagine. We just couldn't help but share this silly thread with you because it pawsitively reminds us of our daily lives, specifically in hoping our cute cats might be generous enough to share literally anything with us in "their" house.   • After our first cat (who we did try to stop from sleeping in our bed), we just gave up with the rest of them. We knew the fight was futile, so now we have three cute snuggle buddies in our bed every night. We're not mad about it.

    bengalibelle I used to and she would sit on my chest and cuddle on me and put her paw on my mouth and all the cute things. Or curl up next to me. But then I started having to give her anti seizure meds which she hates and she started peeing on my bed. So no more bed for Moojie. But I not-so- infrequently go sleep on the pull out sofa bed in the living room (that she doesn't pee on) just to get the cuddles again.

  • Yeah, this is the real question: are there cat owners who successfully tell their cats “no"? If so, could you please speak up on how you managed to do it? We would love that information. We think a lot of people would. It might even be crucial to our survival as the hooman race.

    I don't have a choice with this one. She'll yell at me until I let her under the duvet with me The way I see it, my cats don't have as long as me in this world, and I chose to bring them in to my home. I wouldn't prohibit any other family from using furniture, so why should I prohibit my cats? They're just as much my family as anyone I'm actually blod related to

    ruibingw I feel those that don't are missing out on the best nap/sleep buddies. But I can understand those that suffer from allergies. I'm typing this while having 3 cats sleeping on or next to me.

    difficult_Person_666 Absolutely not, but she doesn't listen... I did try the closing my bedroom door "trick" but she got wise to that and would hide under my bed until I closed the door, then when I was in bed, just "yeah? What ya gonna do about it?!" So she won
